Native of Perpignan in southern France and settled in Québec 10 years ago, Stéphane Modat is one of the great chefs of his generation. 

He worked the stoves of prestigious restaurant Le Jardin des Sens in Montpellier, owned by the illustrious Pourcel brothers and awarded three Michelin stars. He also worked at the Château de Divonne in Divonne les bains, as well as on the Côte d’Azur in the restaurant L’Univers de Christian Plumail.

When he arrived in Québec, he worked for three years with Yvan Lebrun at the restaurant L’Initiale.  Stéphane was co-founder and chef at the reputable Utopie restaurant.

After five years of innovative creativity, Stéphane took the time to recharge his batteries in the fall of 2009 by exploring the gastronomic universes offered in Hong Kong, Seoul and Paris.  Ever since, he has been fully devoted to works of culinary creation with François Chartier, with whom he created the new Mc2 duo.
